Watkins Elementary, D.C.

Day 1 in Washington, D.C.
Cab Driver: Where are you student teaching?
RaeLene: It's called John Eaton Elementary.
Driver: Where is it?
RaeLene: I don't know yet, actually.
Driver: Well do you know if it's northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast...?
RaeLene: I think it's northwest.
Driver: Oh, good. That's a nice part of town, good schools...it gets to be more scary the more south you are and the more east you are.

Three days later
Becky (BYU supervisor): Well they always tell you to expect the unexpected, and things keep changing here. This weekend our elementary school placements weren't working out so I talked to someone and we have you set up in a new school...It's in the southeast part of the city...

Watkins Elementary: 70% Black
From what I can see they have great reviews for parental support.
They also house the well-known Watkins Living Schoolyard.
Check it out their awesome stepping routine.
It's gonna be tight.
